Project name: Explorer 40.22

Cantiere delle Marche has announced the sale of a custom explorer yacht: Explorer 40.22, a 40m ocean-going yacht designed by Tommaso Spadolini with naval architecture and engineering by Hydro Tec.

The first rendering of the new project shows a displacement hull with a bulbous bow.

Explorer 40.22 has been designed to handle all weather conditions. The owner's instructions were for "a strong, comfortable and reliable vessel, featuring technical characteristics similar to that of a merchant ship."

"He asked for a robust steel construction along with system redundancy and proven commercial-grade components to make his new yacht capable and reliable while maximizing quality of life aboard,” says Vasco Buonpensiere, Marketing Director of CdM.

The new yacht will offer accommodation for 14 guests in seven staterooms, including the main deck owner's suite.

Power is provided by two Caterpillar C32 Acert diesel engines. Top speed is 14 knots, with a maximum range of 3,500 nautical miles when cruising at 10 knots.
