Classic looks, modern boat

Dutch yard Feadship has launched the 47m vessel known as Project 697.

The yacht was built for an experienced owner keen to revisit the classic era of Feadship motoryachts. Project 697 is reminiscent of classic beauties like the 1992 Aurora B. The classic blue hull is completed by the white aluminium superstructure and exterior teak woodwork.

The classic lines were designed by De Voogt. The yacht has a centralised mast and handrails finished in teak but also a lot of modern enhancements.

The traditional design is enriched by the interior architect, who added several subtle contemporary touches such as large windows and bright spaces. Perhaps the most striking modern components on Project 697 are the grilles on the mast, the sides of the superstructure and the main deck forward: these are part and parcel of the underlying aluminium structure.

Project 697 can accommodate up to ten guests in four double cabins and the master suite. A crew of nine people is needed to operate the vessel.
