Now, we’ve seen it all. We are familiar with older ships converted to luxury yachts, or even a military frigate who now lives a second life as luxury superyacht Yas. We also know that the explorer yachts built to sail unfamiliar waters are now in popular demand. But, for the first time, we are witnessing the conversion of a technical ship, original conceived as a supply ship for industrial sea platforms.
It will carry the name Kilkea and will also keep the industrial look. It will have an estimated price tag of $62 million and can accommodate up to 36 guests in luxurious conditions. It will feature multiple swimming pools, a submarine dock, underwater observation room, on-deck soccer pitch, and a helicopter pad and hangar. It can travel for a month without need for resupply. Top speed is above 16 knots, cruising speed is 12 knots. The vessel is built by Shackleton Superyachts & International Shipbuilders Vard. Exterior styling is signed by Bannerberg&Rowell Design.
