Italian commercial yard goes into superyacht sector
Italian commercial shipyard Rosetti Marino Group has announced its intentions to enter the superyacht market.
The yard teamed up with Tommaso Spadolini for an 85m explorer concept. It's an expedition supply vessel that will be built under the Rosetti superyachts brand and it will be the first in a series that will range from 48 to 85m.
Established in 1925, Rosetti Marino SpA is a global leader in the engineering and construction of a wide range of commercial ships from ocean-going tugs and platform supply vessels to passenger ferries, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for propulsion, automation, navigational aids and control systems. Quoted on the Milan stock exchange and comprising 18 companies, nine branch offices, and 1,200 employees, the Group registered a turnover of 213 million in 2016.
Former Sanlorenzo and Ferretti executive Fulvio Dodich has been appointed chairman of Rosetti Superyachts. Interior space of the new vessel will total 2,200 GT. The main feature is the towering four-deck superstructure. Power will be provided by MTU and Rolls-Royce.
Rosetti Superyachts will be based on the Adriatic coast in Ravenna's San Vitale shipyard.
