Turquoise Yachts Builds A 56m Explorer Yacht With Classic Looks

Designed by Andre Hoek

Turkish yard Turquoise Yachts will build a 56m explorer yacht with modern classic styling by Dutch designer Andre Hoek.

The vessel is under construction at the Istanbul yard with a planned launch date for February 2019. The explorer yacht will feature an ice classed hull and aluminium superstructure. She will cruise the Polar Regions.

The Andre Hoek design is reminiscent of classic steam ships, but she will feature all the latest modern technologies including a diesel-electric propulsion system that will propel the ship to a top speed of 15 knots. The satellite-communications dome is camouflaged within the retro-looking funnel.

The interior design was developed by Hoek Naval Architects in collaboration with British studio Vickers.

The classic-looking vessel will have four decks and will accommodate 12 guests in six staterooms. The crew quarters allow a staff of ten people.
