Heesen’s Project Ruya completes sea trials

She exceeded the contractual speed of 15 knots

The latest displacement yacht from Dutch builder Heesen has completed sea trials.

Known as Project Ruya, the 47m yacht managed to exceed the contractual speed, reaching 15.5 knots.

The yacht has zero-speed stabilizers for maximum comfort at anchor and a steel hull with bulbous bow for smooth and safe cruising in all conditions.

Power is provided by two MTU 8V 4000 diesel engines which can deliver a top speed of 15 knots. Project Ruya has a transatlantic range of 4,000 nautical miles while cruising at 12 knots.

She can accommodate eight guests in four double cabins. The interior design is by Bannenberg&Rowell, while the exterior lines are styled by Omega Architects.
