High-speed foiling vessel

Russian design studio Skripnik Design has unveiled the concept of a luxury superyacht named Rocket.

The vessel uses foils in order to achieve higher speeds and a more comfortable ride. The technology is not new and has been used for commercial passenger ferries and patrol vessels. But it was never used on a pleasure yacht.

Skripnik Design has imagined a 37m foiling superyacht concept that can reach in theory speeds up to 50 and 60 knots. For reducing drag, the vessel transforms through a series of hydraulic systems. The flybridge is covered with a glass panel that raises when the deck is in use. Also, the swim platform can be retracted when the vessel is underway.
