Sealegs Teams Up With J Craft To Create a Beautiful Amphibious Tender

Sea or land

Swedish boat builder J Craft has teamed up with Sealegs, a company from New Zealand to create a very special tender. J Craft is known for its beautiful boat design, the Torpedo 42 luxury tender, a boat that is used along many superyachts.

On the other side, Sealegs specializes in amphibious vessels, installing retracting wheels on different boat models. Sealegs is based in Auckland, New Zealand, where the Sealegs concept of amphibious boating was first invented and where they continue to be manufactured. Sealegs craft are bought and used by customers all over the world. Sealegs has produced over 1,100 amphibious craft.

The partnership between the two companies was announced at the Monaco Yacht Show. J Craft will build an amphibious version of its famous 12.6 m Torpedo 42 luxury tender. The vessel will feature retractable, hidden Sealegs technology, allowing the craft to glide from water to land without effort, whether up on a beach or a slipway. As usually for J Craft, the boat will have a high standard of quality and a lot of features including a wet bar and galley, leather upholstery and a special steering wheel designed by Italian automotive specialist Nardi.

Eric Series, Chairman of Sealegs said: “We are excited to build the most luxurious amphibious craft ever made thanks to this partnership. The Sealegs 100 system the J Craft will use is the most powerful system we have ever built and will make it more versatile than ever, as well as turn heads.”

Radenko Milakovic, Chairman and Owner of J Craft said: “J Craft stands for Passion, for Grace and for Elegance. Beauty with no limits – now literally! Thanks to Sealegs and their cutting edge technology only the sky is the limit!”

Power will be provided by a pair of IPS 500 pods, which allow for a top speed of 44 knots.
